Apple AirPods to Get Major Update with New Features by 2025

Big changes are coming to Apple’s popular AirPods. New features will make them better at interacting with users and producing high-quality sound. We might see these updates as early as 2025.

Imagine being able to control your iPhone’s camera directly from your AirPods. With a simple touch on the force sensor, you can take photos. This will be super useful for group shots or when your phone is on a tripod.

New gestures are also on the way. One of them will let you adjust the volume of the “Conversation Detection” feature using head movements. This feature lowers the music volume when you start talking. Currently, you can use head movements to answer or reject calls and respond to notifications.

More Comfort and Better Sound

Apple is working on a “pause” mode that stops audio playback when you fall asleep. This means you won’t need to set timers anymore. The Apple Watch might help turn this feature on automatically, but details are still scarce.

The company is also trying to improve the microphone’s sound quality. Engineers are developing a mode that uses AI to isolate the user’s voice, similar to what’s expected in the iPhone 16.

If these rumors are true, we might see these new AirPods features at the 2025 Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC), which starts on June 9. Apple typically uses this event to unveil new software features for the year.
