Director Anurag Kashyap revealed that actor Vijay Sethupathi helped him financially for his daughter Aaliya Kashyap’s wedding.
How it all began
Anurag Kashyap shared this in an interview with The Hindu. He mentioned meeting Vijay Sethupathi during the post-production of his film ‘Kennedy’ (2023). Sethupathi convinced Kashyap to act in the film ‘Maharaja’ (2024), a South Indian production.
Kashyap stated that Sethupathi told him about a great script, and he eventually agreed to be a part of it. ‘Maharaja’ turned out to be a commercial success, earning over ₹100 crore at the box office, with significant earnings in China.
Financial struggles
Kashyap opened up about his financial situation during the interview. He admitted that he didn’t have enough money for Aaliya’s wedding and shared his concerns with Sethupathi. The actor offered to help, and Kashyap ended up getting a role in ‘Maharaja’.
