Tensions between India and Pakistan have escalated following Operation Sindoor, with frequent attacks and missile strikes reported in Jammu, near the border. Amidst this backdrop, actor Anupam Kher, comedian Samay Raina, and actress Shreya Dhanwantri took to social media to share their thoughts on the situation. Anupam Kher recently visited his cousin Sunil Kher in Jammu. Sunil Kher shared a video with Anupam, who immediately called him to check on his well-being. Sunil reassured Anupam that he and his family are safe, thanks to the Indian Army and Mata Vaishno Devi’s protection.
Indian Army’s reassuring presence
Anupam Kher took to X (formerly Twitter) to share Sunil Kher’s message. He writes, “My cousin Sunil sent me a video from Jammu. When I called him, he said with a smile, ‘We’re in India, we’re Indians. The Indian Army and Mata Vaishno Devi are protecting us. Don’t worry, no missile will hit the ground.'” Samay Raina echoed similar sentiments on Instagram. He writes that his prayers are with the people of Jammu, urging everyone to sleep peacefully, trusting the Indian Army. “My prayers are with the people of Jammu. Let’s sleep peacefully and trust the Indian Army. Jai Hind.”
The devastating impact of war
While Anupam Kher and Samay Raina expressed their faith in the Indian Army, Shreya Dhanwantri took a different approach. She shared a poignant post on social media, quoting poet Mohammad Darvesh. The quote highlights the tragic consequences of war, where leaders shake hands after the conflict, but families are left to mourn their losses. Shreya’s post reads: “After the war, leaders will shake hands, but a mother, wife, and child will wait for their martyred father. I don’t know who sold my land, but I know who paid the price.”
