Kher and Bhatt notably collaborated on the 1984 Indian Hindi drama film ‘Saaransh’. This film marked Anupam Kher’s debut in a leading role.

In ‘Saaransh’, Kher received widespread acclaim for his portrayal of a 65-year-old grieving father. Mahesh Bhatt directed the film.

The cast also included Rohini Hattangadi. The film tells the story of an elderly Maharashtrian couple in Mumbai coping with the profound loss of their son.
