Antonio Conte Frustrated with Napoli, Hints at Potential Exit Amid Transfer Speculation

Antonio Conte’s Napoli are on a roll, and a win over Monza this weekend could see them tie with Inter at the top of Serie A standings – albeit with a game in hand.

The Italian coach took the press conference by storm yesterday, but his comments have only fueled speculation about his future at the club. Conte is contracted until 2027, but rumors of a potential exit at the end of the season continue to circulate, largely due to the absence of a release clause in his contract, which would allow him to depart by paying a residual compensation.

Conte addressed the speculation head-on, saying his initial statements about the club were made with optimism. He was candid about not being able to fulfill some of his promises. The coach was clearly frustrated when discussing the transfer of Kvaratskhelia to PSG in January. “I said Napoli shouldn’t be a stepping stone, but I don’t want to lie about things that didn’t happen,” Conte said, acknowledging the limitations of his influence over the club’s decisions. “In eight months, I’ve realized there’s a lot you can’t do.”
