However, before the tournament begins, the South African team has faced a significant setback due to the loss of star bowler Enrique Norkhia. Furthermore, another key player has been injured.

South African Team Faces Another Blow

South Africa’s star batsman, Van der Dussen, has suffered an injury, casting doubts on his participation in the Champions Trophy. The injury occurred while he was fielding in a match during the SA20. Although the severity of his injury is not yet known, concerns are rising about his potential absence from the tournament, especially after the loss of Anrich Norkhia.

Details of Van der Dussen’s Injury

Vander Dussen’s injury happened during a match between MI Cape Town and Paarl Royals in the SA20. He was fielding at cover-point when Joe Root played a shot off Trent Boult. In an attempt to save the shot, the ball hit Van der Dussen’s fingers, resulting in an injury that required an ice pack to be applied. After the match, his finger was swollen. Despite this, he showed no signs of severe injury and interacted with people after the game, even displaying his batting prowess with an impressive 91 runs in 64 balls before the injury occurred.
