Karun Nair
Today a large number of Indian players are turning to the home cricket region of England. In recent years, players like Cheteshwar Pujara have made a comeback in the international team due to the county’s strength. After that, players like Umesh Yadav, Navdeep Saini and Prithvi Shaw also turned to domestic cricket in England. Recently, Yuzvendra Chahal, who was not selected for the Asia Cup and ODI World Cup squads, has also signed up for the Kent county team. Now another Indian player’s name has been added to this episode.
We tell you that Karun Nair, the batsman who completed six Tests for the Indian side and scored a triple century, has now reached out to the county side. He is expected to play in the remaining three County Championship games this season. Nair has signed a contract with England county team Northamptonshire. Karun Nair, 31, will replace Sam Wightman in Northamptonshire, who has returned to his native country of Australia.
What did Karun Nair say about joining the county team?
Nair also issued a statement, saying: “I’m looking forward to joining Northamptonshire and taking part in the County Championship.” You hear a lot about county cricket and I know Prithvi Shaw has really enjoyed his time with the team so I’m delighted me about the chance to play county cricket. I hope that I can contribute to the team. To join the County team, Nair had to reach Britain on Friday, which is today itself. He will feature in Sunday’s game against Warwickshire.
