Announcing the names of 2 astronauts for the UAE space mission

Dubai: The names of the first two Emirati astronauts for UAE Analog Mission 1 have been announced.

According to Arab media, the Muhammad Bin Rashid Space Center (MBRSC) has selected the first Emirati analog astronauts Abdullah Al-Hamadi and Saleh Al-Amiri for the UAE Analog Mission 1.

These candidates will be part of the mission’s Crew One team, which will study the effects of isolation and confinement on human psychology, physiology, and team dynamics to help prepare for long-term space research.

The Emirati analog astronauts will be part of an eight-month international study of the Single Earth Station (SIRIUS) at the NEA Analog Terrestrial Center in the Russian capital Moscow later this year.

Abdullah al-Hamadi holds a BA in Aerospace Engineering from Manchester Metropolitan and a BA in Mechanical Engineering from Abu Dhabi University. He has been a part of the UAE Armed Forces for 17 years and is currently the Chief of Staff for Rehabilitation .۔

Saleh al-Amiri has a degree in mechanical engineering from Khalifa University. He is a campaign analyst at the Mobius Institute. Al-Amiri is currently working as a mechanical engineer at Adnoc. Was obtained.

“We are entering a new era of space research in the UAE. We will continue to invest in the space sector to promote a knowledge-based economy,” said Yousuf Hamad Al-Sheibani, Director General of the MBRSC.
