Veteran actor Anil Kapoor and his brother Boney Kapoor arrived in Rishikesh on Wednesday to immerse their mother’s ashes in the Ganges River. Nirmal Kapoor, the mother of the Kapoor siblings, passed away on May 2 at 90. Anil shared a poignant post on social media, revealing he was deeply moved during the ceremony. He took to X, formerly Twitter, to share an emotional note alongside a picture of himself sitting by the Ganges in white attire, surrounded by family members and spiritual leader Sadhvi Bhagwati Saraswati. Anil’s post read, “Today we immersed Ma’s ashes in the Ganga, in the same place where we had laid Dad to rest nearly a decade ago… With the grief came a quiet sense of peace, like Ma and Dad are finally back together, with each other, home at last.” The ceremony was a heartfelt moment for the Kapoor family, who found solace in the spiritual rituals.

The Kapoor family gathered at the banks of the Ganges to bid a final farewell to Nirmal Kapoor. The event was attended by Anil and Boney Kapoor, along with other family members. Anil and Boney also met with Swami Chidanand Saraswati at Parmarth Niketan, sharing memories of their mother’s final moments. Swami Chidanand offered words of comfort and participated in the prayer ceremony, providing solace to the grieving family.
