Aníbal de Castro says prospects are rosy

The Embassador Hannibal de Castrorepresentative of the country before the World Tourism Organization (UNWTO), in Madrid, Spain, prior to his presentation at a “Roadshow” as the first activity of the International Tourism Fair (Fitur 2023), stated that the tourism prospects for this 2023 are rosy.

The ambassador recalled that more than seven million foreign visitors arrived in the country and an increase of 10% or more is expected this year, as pointed out by the Minister of Tourism, David Collado.

According to the diplomat, the Fitur is the most important tourism fair in Europe and, therefore, the interest that has been aroused in the country is natural, from where more companies and financial institutions arrive Looking for contact with tour operators, airlines and potential investors.

He pointed out that the previous fair brought more investment and greater interest in the country as a tourist destination, in addition to the fact that these favorable results have sent a leadership signal from the Dominican Republic in the world.

“The Dominican Republic is embarking on large-scale projects, such as Pedernales, Michesand the President already stated it in the last edition of Fitur, to promote these projects in Spain”, he said.

In this regard, De Castro considers that Spain is the natural area for the expansion of tourism and investment in the area in the country.

He argued that the participation of the country’s main banks every year in Fitur and the fact that others are joining is clear proof that this is a good platform for doing business. .
