Angry bikers demonstrate in Paris this Saturday

A new event led by bikers will take place this Saturday from 2 p.m. in Paris. They want to protest against the paid parking of thermal motorized two-wheelers in the capital.

A decision which must take effect from January 1, but which is not to the liking of bikers who point the finger at the price to pay to be able to access the capital with their vehicle.

“To have the right to come to Paris it will soon cost more than 3,000 euros. But many people cannot come by bike or access public transport, because they live too far away or have shifted schedules, ”Isabelle Lebret, member of the French Federation of Angry Bikers from Paris and the inner suburbs (FFMC 75) who is organizing the event.

A solution to urban decongestion?

While the government is listening to bikers with the resumption of inter-line traffic, as well as the opening of work on technical control, the Paris town hall is sticking to its positions. The latter refuses to consider motorized two-wheelers as a solution to urban congestion.

An opinion which is not shared by Jean-Marc Belotti, coordinator of the FFMC 75. “A motorized two-wheeler remains much smaller than a car, it is parked more easily, and in traffic jams it will drive much less. for a long time with the same distance, so ecologically it brings real added value, ”he argues.
