Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Ángel Di María appeared to spit on Brazilian fans as tempers remained heated following Argentina’s World Cup qualifying victory in the already historic Maracana clash.
Argentina handed Brazil their first home defeat in World Cup qualifying in the early hours of Tuesday-Wednesday, with Nicolás Otamendi scoring the winning goal in the second half.
But violence broke out before the game when fans of both countries argued during the national anthems at the Maracana Stadium and police intervened after ridiculous security measures.

Lionel Messi took his Argentina teammates off the pitch and took them to the dressing room before the game was played half an hour late.
At that moment, as he and his teammates advanced through the dressing room tunnel, the “Torcida” threw several objects and liquids at Di María, and “Fideo” responded by spitting in his direction.
The clip appears to be from before the game when the Argentina players delayed kick-off due to the brawl in the stands. Anyway, another unpleasant occurrence of a night to forget.
