Google’s latest Android 16 update is here. It’s available for Pixel devices first, starting with the Pixel 6 series and Pixel Tablet. This update rolls out over the air, so you don’t need to do a thing.

One cool thing about Android 16 is that apps can resize to fit different screen sizes. This is especially great for foldable phones.
Notifications are also getting a makeover. They’re more organized now, making them easier to read.
Google’s added a feature called Live Update, which gives you dynamic notifications for things like navigation, ride-hailing, or food delivery. You can even see these updates on your lock screen, so you can track what’s happening.
For people who wear hearing aids, Google’s added new controls. You can pick the right microphone and adjust settings to work better in noisy environments.
There’s also a feature called Advanced Protection, which helps keep your personal data safe from cyberattacks, bad apps, and scam calls.
In addition to the stable software, Google’s released Android 16 QPR 2 beta for developers. This will help make Android 16 even better when the full update comes out later.
The beta software includes a new desktop mode. You can connect your phone to a monitor using DisplayPort and use apps on a bigger screen. You can even use your phone separately without affecting what’s on the monitor.
This desktop mode also works as a second screen for the Pixel Tablet. You can transfer files and data between the two screens easily.
