The next big Android update is already in development and it has crucial new features for all users.
Android 13 will arrive during the year 2022 and below we will give you an account of some of the main novelties that this update brings with it, whose code name is Tiramisu.
Share media content on third-party devices
At the interface level, Android 13 may bring fewer new features than the current version 12, but a new feature will be integrated that allows the music from your smartphone to be “debited” by a speaker, as soon as both devices are close.
This feature facilitates this operation, since it is enough for the smartphone to be close to the speaker, so that the option for the music to be played there appears immediately on the screen, loud and clear. Google is apparently focusing on audio, but we can also anticipate, with some hope, that a similar feature will be available for video, allowing sharing with a Smart TV.
It should also be noted that the functionality can only be compatible with devices that integrate a broadband chip, or UWB, which are still scarce in the Android ecosystem, but with this functionality Google may be trying to massify this standard.
save battery life
Another expected feature is Android Resource Saver (TARE) which reduces the power consumption of apps. According to XDA Developers, this feature will work on a credit system. Each app has a set amount of power credits, and as the battery depletes, each app’s credit also decreases.
In this sense, the applications will have to prepare for this functionality, reducing the activity when there is less energy. This may involve shutting down some processes that are less useful.
More security to protect users from attacks
Of course, Android 13 may also bring security improvements. In this specific case, there is talk of support for the DNS data encryption protocol over HTTPS (DoH), as well as various corrective patches for identified vulnerabilities.
With these resources, Google focuses its efforts on protecting users against attacks known as “man-in-the-middle”.
change user account

Currently, the Android operating system already allows access to several different user accounts on a single device. But it seems that Google wants to speed up the process and Android 13 is expected to allow you to switch accounts directly on the lock screen, similar to what is already happening with Microsoft Windows.
For now it is not known if Google will make this function available only for tablets, since this equipment is generally used by several users; or if it will also do it for smartphones.
Alongside this feature, there may also be the possibility of having NFC payment options for user profiles saved on the device, other than the main account.
Bluetooth LE audio compatibility
According to the specialist Mishaal Rahman, Android 13 will support Bluetooth LE Audio and in the AOSP documentation it has already been detected that Google has added the LC3 codec to the system settings and has defined it as a priority option.
Which means that compatible smartphones will try to connect with the LE Audio connection first. This novelty is important in the sense that Bluetooth LE Audio offers better sound quality, consumes less energy and can transmit audio, in several streams, simultaneously.
As we can see, Google is betting on a very interesting update in terms of features, after the update to Android 12 focuses more on the user interface.
Google is expected to develop more and more interesting features. We will be here to inform you all the news about its next operating system.
