Andalusia rewarded its sensational athletes in another unforgettable gala of the emblematic Andalusia Sports Awards in the incomparable setting of the Cervantes Theater in Almería.

The Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sport, Arturo BernaHe, who presented the awards for Best Sports Manager, Best Academic Record (accompanied by Javier Imbroda’s widow, Salvadora Acosta) and Best Male Athlete, was accompanied at the ceremony by the mayoress of Almería, María del Mar Vázquez ; the president of the Almería Provincial Council, Javier Aureliano; the Government delegate in Almería, María Aránzazu Martín; among other authorities.

Best male athlete with a disability. Alfonso Cabello Flames for the results obtained in track cycling in 2021, whose most outstanding results have been obtaining a Gold (C4-5 kilometer) and a bronze (Team Speed) at the Tokyo Paralympic Games.

Best female athlete with a disability: Sara Almagro Vallejo for the results obtained in adapted surfing in 2021, whose most outstanding result has been the World Subchampionship in adapted surfing.

Best promise of men’s sports: Ex aequo Pablo Moreno Salguero, Juan Miguel Palomino Goenechea and Jorge Flavio Knabe García for the results obtained in rowing in 2021, whose most outstanding result was first place in the junior world championship (4 -JM).

Best promise in women’s sports: María Ordóñez Cobacho. For the results obtained in ski mountaineering in 2021, the most outstanding result of which was obtaining third place in the junior world championship (Mixed Relay).

Best male team: Real Cajasur Priego table tennis. For the results obtained in 2021; the most outstanding have been the Superdivision League Championship and having reached the second round in the European Cup.

Best initiative to prevent and fight violence, racism, xenophobia, intolerance and sexist attitudes or behaviors in sport: “0 Violence 90 Minutes”. Its fundamental objective is to eradicate any type of violence on the soccer playing fields.

Best sports manager. Unicaja Foundation. For the unconditional support of Andalusian sports, being the main sponsor of several Andalusian teams in the highest category, organizer of various sports camps for boys and girls, as well as providing support and collaboration with various entities, championships and sports activities.

Best academic record. Ana Jimenez Montereither. For the results obtained in taekwondo in 2021, whose most outstanding results have been obtaining a medal in the international Opens of Andalusia, France, the Netherlands and Arabia (senior -46 Kg), as well as for the academic results achieved (9.8 in the Title of high school).

Special mentions: Andalusian Olympic and Paralympic athletes in Tokyo 2020.
