Ana Ivanovic and Bastian Schweinsteiger have ended their nine-year marriage. The 37-year-old tennis star has been in Belgrade for two months, while her ex-husband remains in Munich. Their split is relatively straightforward due to a prenup that protects both parties’ assets.
The couple kept their finances separate during the marriage. “They didn’t pool their money,” German media reported, citing their lawyers’ advice to maintain individual accounts. This prenup ensured each party retained what they brought into the marriage. Ivanovic’s €100 million contract with a major brand is also safeguarded.
Dividing Assets
Ivanovic and Schweinsteiger will split assets acquired jointly during their marriage. This shouldn’t be complicated, as they own properties in their individual names. Ivanovic has a home in Mallorca, purchased for €4.5 million. Schweinsteiger owns homes in Austria and Germany and properties in Manchester.
The couple shares a yacht, bought for €400,000. Much of their accumulated wealth is expected to go to their three children. Ivanovic’s net worth is around €20 million, but she has a lifetime contract worth over €88 million. Schweinsteiger’s fortune is estimated at €70 million, accumulated during his time in Munich, Manchester, and the US.
