An Iranian footballer, sentenced to death by the Regime

Iranian professional footballer Amir Nasr-Azadani faces a death sentence in his country, FIFPRO has reported. The Iranjavan player was arrested for publicly defending the freedoms and rights of women in his country. The winger belonged to Tractor Sazi (between the 2016/17 and 2018/19 seasons), a team from which Paco Jémez has just signed.

This Monday, Majid Reza Rahnavard, a wrestling practitioner, was hanged after being sentenced to death in an unfair trial. He was accused of killing two members of the security forces. It is the second case of public execution.

Iran suffers protests, which have also been seen in the World Cup, after the death of Mahsa Amini who died after being arrested for wearing the veil improperly.
