An Indian passenger injured several passengers on a London-bound flight

New Delhi: A London-bound Air India flight was diverted back to Delhi after a passenger ran afoul of it, injuring two women crew members.

According to Indian media reports, a rude male passenger assaulted two female Air India crew members on a London-bound flight on Monday morning, prompting the pilot to return to Delhi about 15 minutes after take-off.

The unruly passenger punched a female crew member and pulled another by her hair, the latest in a string of unruly passengers.

Air India said in a statement that the passenger ignored verbal and written warnings and continued to behave unethically, including physically harming two cabin crew members, after which the pilot-in-command decided to return to Delhi and land the passenger. But was handed over to the security officials.

Air India placed the safety, security and dignity of all on board as paramount and said the airline was providing all possible assistance to the affected crew members. The flight was rescheduled to depart for London on Monday afternoon.

It should be noted that this was the latest incident in the series of incidents of rude passengers. Shankar Mishra, a drunken passenger, urinated on a female co-passenger on a Tata Group-owned Air India flight from New York to New Delhi on November 26.
