A newborn girl died while trying to treat pneumonia with a hot rod in India.
According to reports from Indian media, a girl was brought to the medical college due to pneumonia in Shahdol district of Madhya Pradesh, India, where she died during treatment.
Officials said that the girl was buried but the grave was exhumed for post-mortem.
When the officials of Women and Child Development reached the hospital, they found that this incident took place 15 days ago. The collector of Shahdol district said that the girl’s sample was not treated due to which her health continued to deteriorate.
According to an Indian media report, the girl’s mother tried to treat her pneumonia by applying a hot rod 51 times.
In the tribal areas of Madhya Pradesh, hot rod treatment is practiced to relieve pain, but it leads to infection in the body, which can be life-threatening.
