Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan, known to millions as Big B, has once again proven his word is gold. The veteran actor recently stepped up to help a family from a small village in West Bengal. He fulfilled a special promise made to a contestant on his popular show, Kaun Banega Crorepati (KBC), truly changing their lives.
This touching story began during an episode of KBC 16. A contestant named Jayant Dhule, from Arambagh village in Hooghly, West Bengal, shared a personal struggle. Jayant told Big B that his home had only one toilet. This meant his mother and sister did not have a private washroom. Hearing this, Bachchan was visibly moved. He promised Jayant on the spot that he would ensure a toilet was built for his family. This promise was made regardless of how much prize money Jayant might win on the show.
Big B kept his word, as expected. About two and a half months later, Jayant reached out to Bachchan’s team. They quickly sent 2 lakh rupees to cover the construction costs for the new facility. This act of generosity made a huge difference to Jayant’s family.
A Family’s Heartfelt Thanks
Jayant, speaking to Aaj Tak, expressed his deep gratitude to Amitabh Bachchan. "There was no bathroom for my mother and sister," he explained. "Mr. Bachchan was very concerned. He promised me he would have one built." Jayant added, "I consider this the best birthday gift of my life." His sister, Shikha Dhule, was equally overjoyed. "I am so happy," she shared. "Now my home has a good toilet. I want to thank him again and again."
