Amidst the criticism, Irfan Pathan praised Ravi Bishnoi, he had this to say about the pressure in the match.

Former India pacemaker Irfan Pathan praised the leg-spinning Ravi Bishnoi, saying he handled the pressure well against Pakistan in the 2022 Asian Cup Super Four match. Playing in the tournament opener at the Dubai International Stadium, Bishnoi was quite economical with an economy rate of 6.5 in four overs as he dismissed Pakistan captain Babar Azam in his first over.

Said Pathan on Star Sports’ ‘Follow the Blues’ show: “Bowling-wise, obviously this bowling line-up needs to be better in a lot of departments, but I think they played really well in the first half.” Bishnoi handled the pressure well, especially against Pakistan in their first game.”

He said, “But the way he handled the power play and got the wicket from Babar Azam, it was wonderful to watch. Indian bowlers are under a lot of pressure during the match against Pakistan, but Bishnoi handled the pressure well.”

Pathan also praised Rohit Sharma’s captaincy during the thrilling match as he used bowling and spinners well at the right time, although it was not enough to prevent a five-wicket loss for India. India’s next Super Four match at the 2022 Asia Cup will be against Sri Lanka in Dubai on Tuesday.
