Amicus Curiae in Ripple vs. SEC case files new motion

In the ongoing case of Ripple v. the US SEC, a new request has been made by an amicus curiae.

New development in the case

The lawsuit between Ripple and the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) continues.

In December 2020, the SEC sued Ripple and its current and former CEOs. The regulator claimed that they have sold $1.3 billion worth of unregistered securities since the launch of XRP.

Since then, the litigation has been thought about in several dimensions, with different issues emerging from time to time.

The case is currently evolving towards the announcement of summary proceedings, even if the amicus curiae submits a new request.

An amicus curiae, also known as a friend of the court, is a person or organization who is not a party to a legal dispute, but who may assist the court by providing relevant information, expertise or insight.
