Americans want kids to get crypto education

It seems that American parents and graduates who know the world of cryptocurrencies consider it very important that their children are also aware of crypto technology. At least two in three parents even believe that crypto should be taught in schools.

Crypto Education

At the moment, parents with crypto knowledge are already paying several hundred dollars a year to let their children learn about crypto. However, these parents also want crypto education to become part of the standard curriculum in schools, according to the results of a survey which was recently performed by study.com. 64% of parents and 67% of college graduates believe crypto education in schools is important.

Other terms were slightly less important according to both groups. For example, only 40% think that education should also be given in schools about blockchain. Only 25% think it is also important to teach children about non-fungible tokens (NFT).

To participate in the study, the parents and graduates were screened to ensure that the subjects had adequate knowledge of blockchain tech, crypto, NFTs and the metaverse. Anyone who did not understand these topics was disqualified from participation. The survey included 884 American parents and 210 American college graduates.

The adoption of cryptocurrencies

The results come amid the increasing prominence and adoption of cryptocurrencies in the United States. According to research center Pew About 88% of Americans have at least heard of cryptocurrencies, while 16% of US residents have invested or traded in cryptocurrencies at some point in their lives.

The survey also found that both groups agreed that learning about “the future of our economy” was most important, as well as a means to “diversify investments”, “create opportunities” and “develop an investment spirit”.

New York City Mayor Eric Adams also in the past already know that he is in favor of crypto education.

“We need to open up our schools to teach blockchain technology, to teach this new way of thinking.”
