FC Porto’s basketball team has secured American forward Cornelius Hudson, an experienced scorer, to strengthen its roster.
The Portuguese club announced Hudson’s signing on Tuesday. He will join on a contract running through the end of the current season.
Hudson, 31, arrives from Romanian club Valcea 1924. He is 2.01 meters (6 feet 7 inches) tall.
He is known for his scoring ability, having previously been the top scorer in Portugal’s Liga Portuguesa de Basquetebol (LPB) during the 2023-2024 regular season. He achieved this while playing for rival club Vitória de Guimarães.
During that season, Hudson averaged 21 points, 6.8 rebounds, and 2.6 assists over 29 games in the LPB.
The Dallas native began his professional career in Canada with the Sudbury Five. His career has also included stints in Luxembourg, Serbia, and Bulgaria.
Hudson expressed enthusiasm for his new role. “I really like to win and play basketball. I want to learn and improve every day,” he stated.
He added, “I only think about helping the team.” Hudson will wear number 24 for FC Porto.
