The Niagara Gazette notes that there are “two dead and one border guard slightly injured”; ABC also said there were “multiple victims.”
The Rainbow Bridge is now closed in both directions, just a day before Thanksgiving, a day of heavy vehicle traffic between both countries.
Canada’s Public Safety Minister Dominic LeBlanc called the incident “very serious,” while there has been no official response from the U.S. government.
