Wes Washpun is staying put with FC Porto. The club made it official on Monday, sharing the news on their website. The 31-year-old American point guard signed on for another season. He first joined the Dragons in the 2024/25 season, coming over from Oliveirense.

Washpun was a big reason FC Porto lifted the Portuguese Cup last season. He played a huge part in that victory. Speaking to the club’s media, he explained his choice to return. “I decided to stay one more year at FC Porto,” Washpun said. “I feel we have unfinished business and a championship to win.”
His goals for the upcoming season are clear. They are the same as always. “Expectations for this season remain the same,” he added. “Every year at FC Porto is about winning everything.” The player believes in the club’s drive for total success.
Living in Porto has also made a strong impression on Washpun. He calls the city his second home. “Portugal is definitely a second home for me and my fiancée,” he shared. “We both love the country and the city of Porto.” His personal connection runs deep.
