Mourning in the world of cycling after another life has been cut short on the roads. USA Cycling, the United States Cycling Federation, announced this Sunday the death of cyclist Magnus White, just 17 years old, after being run over while training.
In the statement, USA Cycling states that White “was struck by a car while riding a bicycle in his hometown of Boulder.” The American federation also collects that White “I was focused on his preparation before leaving for Scotland to compete in the MTB Cross County junior event of the Glasgow Cycling World Championships on August 10” and they have announced that during the World Cup “we will run for Magnus”.
At 17, Magnus White had already become one of America’s greatest talents in off-road cycling, as evidenced by his 2021 junior national cyclocross title, his victories on the American circuit and several Top-10 cyclocross races that he has contested this season in Europe. Friends of the White family have launched a campaign on the GoFundMe platform for anyone who wants to help them in these hard times.
