Mexican President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has criticized American officials regarding human rights issues in Mexico, saying that American officials are lying and it is in their nature.
Addressing the press conference, he said that the claims of the US report are untrue. America considers itself the king of the world and does not want to reform itself.
Foreign news agencies Reuters reports In his address, President Obrador condemned the US State Department’s annual report on human rights and said that the report’s mention of human rights problems in Mexico and warnings in this regard do not reflect reality.
Addressing the press conference, he said that the American authorities are lying. Claims that the police and military in Mexico are involved in extrajudicial and arbitrary killings, torture of government officials and forced abductions are not based on reality.
President Obrader said that sorry but this report is only based on politics and it is in their nature, America considers itself the king of the world and is not willing to reform itself.
Vedanta Patil, Deputy Spokesperson of the US Department of State, has said in response to President Obrader’s statement that we have never said that we are the king of the world.
Vedant Patil has defended the position presented in the report and related to the serious level of corruption and extrajudicial killings in Mexico’s police and military and government institutions.
