AMD Ryzen PRO 9000 Zen 5 Processors Leaked: Enterprise 65W AM5 Details

Word on the street is that AMD is quietly preparing a new set of processors. These chips are not for gamers or PC enthusiasts. Instead, they are built specifically for businesses and office environments. We’re talking about the new Ryzen PRO 9000 series, and details have started to leak.

Recent reports, including those from Tom’s Hardware, suggest these new processors use the Zen 5 architecture, also known as “Granite Ridge.” They feature a low power use, with a Thermal Design Power (TDP) of just 65 watts. This makes them ideal for systems that need to run cool and quiet. Information about these chips first popped up on sites like ASUS and TechSpot.

The upcoming lineup includes three main models. The top-tier chip is the Ryzen 9 Pro 9945. It boasts 12 cores and 24 threads, plus a hefty 64MB of L3 cache. Next up is the Ryzen 7 Pro 9745, offering 8 cores, 16 threads, and 32MB of L3 cache. Finally, the Ryzen 5 Pro 9645 comes with 6 cores, 12 threads, and 32MB of L3 cache. All these chips are designed to balance strong performance with low power needs. They also include business-focused features like AMD PRO technologies and better security.

These new processors will work with the AM5 platform, a familiar base for many. They support fast DDR5 memory, up to 6,400 MT/s, and PCIe 5.0 for speedy connections. For corporate users, AMD has packed in critical security tools. These include Secure Processor, Memory Guard, and DASH manageability. While they do have a built-in RDNA 2 graphics processor, the real stars are the Zen 5 cores. Their optimized power use makes them perfect for corporate desktops that value energy efficiency.

The leaks also show that these Pro 9000 models use the same core silicon as standard Ryzen chips. However, they feature small tweaks to their clock speeds. The Ryzen 5 Pro 9645 will have a base clock speed of 3.9 GHz. The Ryzen 7 Pro 9745 can reach boost speeds up to 5.3 GHz. For the Ryzen 9 Pro 9945, its base clock is 3.4 GHz, but its boost speeds are not yet confirmed. Even with slightly lower frequencies, the improved efficiency of Zen 5 and its updated cache should provide great overall performance.

This new generation marks AMD’s first Ryzen PRO line with Zen 5. It follows the PRO 7000 series, which was based on Zen 4 architecture. With a 65W TDP, these chips are perfect for business systems and small computers. They can run quietly and use less power. Still, they deliver strong performance for tasks that need many cores or involve multitasking. Industry watchers believe this generation is ideal for office PCs, slim client devices, and more efficient workstations.

AMD has not yet made an official announcement. We also don’t have concrete launch dates. However, these models have already appeared in ASUS BIOS versions. This information comes from reliable leak sources like @momomo_us on X. This suggests a launch could happen within a few months. Most likely, we will see these chips in the second half of 2025. When they do arrive, they will probably be limited to large business customers and system builders at first.
