Ambassador Sonia Guzmán shares with the famous German tenor Jonas Kaufmann in Washington

Ambassador Sonia Guzmán and members of the Dominican embassy attended the concert offered by the renowned tenor Jonas Kaufmann at the Kennedy Center, along with a group of ambassadors from the Symphony Foundation of the Dominican Republic, who traveled to Washington, DC for this reason.

Kaufmann is an internationally acclaimed German tenor, best known for his renditions of Wagner, as well as being a distinguished recitalist of songs by the composers Schubert, Schumann, Mahler, and Strauss.

Hailed as "the best tenor in the world" For the British newspaper The Telegraph, Kaufmann has performed more than 70 roles in the main opera houses of the world. The New York Times has described it with "high clarion notes, the mixture of virility and tenderness in his singing", and praised his "refined musical ability". The tenor held a private meeting with the Dominican delegation at the end of the concert, whom he thanked for their support and emotional reception. Kaufmann appreciated the warm receptivity of the Dominican people. Prior to the concert, the ambassador received in her residence the ambassadors of the Sinfonía Foundation, which this year celebrates 35 years developing activities for the promotion of art and the promotion of music studies in the Dominican Republic.
