Amazon Prime will switch on advertising in films and series from April 9th

ADVERTISING

Starting April 9, Amazon Prime Video series and movies will contain limited advertising. According to Amazon itself, “This will enable us to continue to invest in attractive content, increase these investments in the long term and thus maintain the quality and quantity of content on Prime Video.”

Amazon adds: “Our goal is to have much less advertising than linear TV and other streaming services.”

The online trading platform adds that there will be no changes to the current price of the Prime subscription, which is currently 4.99 euros per month, if you choose the option of films and series with advertising.

Without advertising, the Amazon Prime tariff increases by 39.40%

If the Amazon Prime Spain subscriber does not want advertising in the middle of a film or series, he can pay 1.99 euros at the current tariff, making the final price of the subscription 6.98 euros, that is, 39.40% more expensive without advertising than with advertising.
