Amazon Prime Video has been showing additional advertising since February 5, 2024. It should be two to three and a half minutes per hour. Amazon wants to show the commercials both before and during the film or series episode. If you don’t want that, you have to pay an additional 2.99 euros a month for ad-free Amazon Prime.
But what Amazon didn’t mention when it launched the additional advertisements on Prime Video: Two most important features for demanding film fans are now missing from the standard Amazon Prime Video with advertising.
These are Dolby Atmos 3D sound and Dolby Vision HDR. Amazon has not yet communicated that Dolby Atmos 3D sound and Dolby Vision HDR are only available in the Prime Video subscription if you pay the 2.99 euros extra per month.
According to the film portal 4kfilme, this means: If you receive Amazon Prime Video at no extra charge, 4K resolution, HDR10 and Dolby Digital 5.1 are over. You no longer get Dolby Atmos 3D sound and Dolby Vision HDR. Unless you pay the 2.99 euro surcharge.

This is how much Amazon Prime costs in Germany
Prime Video is part of the Amazon Prime subscription. Amazon Prime has cost 8.99 euros per month or 89.90 euros for an annual subscription in Germany since autumn 2022.
