Amanda Bynes is definitely keeping things fresh! The former child star was recently spotted in Los Angeles sporting a bold two-toned hairstyle. It’s a look that throws back to the early 2000s, giving her a cool, retro vibe.
The 39-year-old showed off platinum blonde hair on top, fading into black underneath. Photos from the Daily Mail on Friday, September 5, captured her new do. Bynes kept her outfit super casual, rocking an oversized white Lady Gaga T-shirt paired with comfy gray sweatpants. She finished the look with a chain-strap crossbody bag, black-framed glasses, and classic Nike sneakers.
This hair transformation isn’t the only recent change for Bynes. Just a few weeks earlier, on August 22, she gave her Instagram followers a peek at her new, fuller lips. "Lip injections by @body.byem <3," she captioned the post on her Instagram story. It seems she’s enjoying experimenting with her style.

Before the lip filler, Bynes also showed off a shiny new grill. "What’s up, everyone? I just wanted to make a quick post to tell you guys that I just got a new grill from IceGiants’ website," she said. "Their work is amazing." She explained that because she has veneers, she can’t use dental gems. The grill is her clever workaround to still enjoy a little sparkle on her teeth.
These style updates are just part of Bynes’s ongoing journey of self-expression. Earlier this year, she announced on Instagram that she was launching an OnlyFans account. Her goal? To connect directly with her fans through messages. She was quick to clarify in April, "Disclaimer: I’m on OnlyFans to chat with my fans through direct messages. I won’t be posting inappropriate content."
Since graduating from the Fashion Institute of Design & Merchandising of California in 2019, Bynes has continued to find creative outlets away from the Hollywood spotlight. She even co-hosted an art exhibition and fashion pop-up in Los Angeles in December 2024.
Bynes has spoken openly about her decision to leave acting. In a 2018 interview with Paper magazine, she shared how the pressures of her acting career, especially her appearance in the 2010 film Easy A, led to her making a big life change. "I literally couldn’t stand my appearance in that movie and didn’t like my performance," she told the publication. "After seeing it, I was completely convinced that I should stop acting." It’s clear that Bynes is forging her own path, one bold style choice and creative project at a time.
