Altice Portugal, owner of the consumer brand MEO, continues with its strategy of positioning the country at the forefront of technology and innovation. On this occasion, another stage of Proximity to the territory within the framework of its project “Parishes 100% Fiber”.

In a statement, it revealed that 153 new parishes in the Braga district now benefit from full fiber optic coverage. The moment was marked by the show “Portugal has Fibra – Monologos da Vacina”, starring João Baião and sponsored by Altice Portugal and its MEO brand.

6 million Portuguese homes and businesses covered with fiber optics from Altice Portugal

According to the operator, there are more than 6 million Portuguese homes and companies covered with fiber optics from Altice Portugal. It is an “unprecedented investment that, in addition to being private, autonomous and totally voluntary, is of true public interest for Portugal and the Portuguese”.

With access to state-of-the-art fiber optics, it provides the territories with unique opportunities for economic and social development, helping to establish populations, generate employment and combat desertification.

Altice Portugal clarifies that the moment, which marked the delivery of the “100% Fiber Parishes” certificates to representatives of the Municipalities, occurred in Braga, at the end of the show “Portugal Has Fiber – Vaccine Monologues” by João Baião.
