Altice Portugal continues to bet on its strategy of proximity to Portugal and the Portuguese. In this sense, it signed a protocol with the Municipality of Coimbra, which will reinforce the fiber optic coverage and the mobile network in that municipality.
“With this protocol, Coimbra will now have eight new base stations, which will allow an improvement in the quality and coverage of the mobile service for practically the entire population (99.9%),” says Altice Portugal in a statement.
Where are the new antennas in Coimbra:
This strengthens voice and mobile data coverage in and around these areas, and expanding coverage is also a priority in the fiber optic network. By the end of 2022, it is expected to exceed 95% of the number of homes in the county.
“Altice Portugal insists on continuing to invest in strengthening the coverage of its fixed and mobile communications networks nationwide”, begins by saying Alexandre Fonseca, CEO of Altice Portugal.
“We continue together with the Portuguese Municipalities and it is with special pleasure that we celebrate this Protocol with the Municipality of Coimbra to provide all residents and their numerous visitors a service that fully responds to their needs, promoting territorial and social cohesion”, complements the executive.
“It is essential for Coimbra that coverage is reinforced throughout the territory of the region”, and it should also be noted that “the parish of Ceira will have fiber optics until Christmas this year”, words of José Manuel Silva, President of the City Council from Coimbra.
Altice Portugal reaffirms that this investment is based on its motto: having Portugal at one speed.
