Luca de Meo, CEO of Renault, thinks electric cars can be fun. He wants to prove it with the new Alpine A110.
What’s wrong with electric cars?
Most early electric cars were like appliances – boring and ugly.
But Renault is working to change that. They want to show electric cars can be exciting.
Alpine’s approach
Alpine’s original idea was to do more with less. Use light materials instead of big batteries.
Luca de Meo likes this approach.
It’s what sets Alpine apart from Renault.
Next-gen Alpine A110
The new Alpine A110 will be 100% electric. It’s like the Porsche 911 of Alpine cars.
It will have an 800-volt system and motors in the rear wheels. The high-energy battery will give it around 560 km of range.

The Alpine Premium Platform will help the car compete with others.
It will be shown at the Paris Motor Show in 2026.
Renault is investing in battery tech and electric motors. They think it’s a chance to catch up.
Other companies are also working on this.
But Renault wants to make electric cars fun.
They don’t want them to be just appliances.
Luca de Meo said: “We’re all learning, all investing in battery tech and electric motors.”
He thinks this is an opportunity for Renault.
No one has a 100-year head start.
Everyone is starting from the same place.
The new Alpine A110 will be a showcase for Renault’s tech.
It will be a sports car with a lot of technology.
And it will be 100% electric.
