Alpes-Maritimes: 32,000 signatures to save the Refuge de l’Espoir, in Grasse

A petition launched in June asks the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Council to reverse its decision to expel the Grasse SPA from its premises in favor of another association.

It’s a decision that is starting to make noise. That of the Alpes-Maritimes Departmental Council not to renew the agreement for the provision of premises located in Mougins at the Refuge de l’Espoir (SPA de Grasse) for the benefit of another association, Au Service des Animaux 06. Facing This choice, a committee was quickly set up. In the process, a petition was launched on June 15 on the site directly addressed to the president of the community, Charles-Ange Ginesy.

“The Grasse SPA will therefore no longer have a refuge to house the animals it takes care of and to help others. It will no longer be able, either, to guarantee the future of its employees who for some, have been working there for a very long time “, explains in the committee, which wishes that the elected official” clarifies his position and reconsiders this decision in order to renew to the Grasse SPA the right to use the Valmasque site in Mougins where the Hope refuge is located, which has been fully fitted out and maintained for forty years by the donors and the team of this association ”.

Very active on social networks, the committee found its audience. In two and a half months, the petition has garnered more than 32,000 signatures and over a thousand comments.
