Alpecin and Deceuninck join forces to be a WorldTour team

The Alpecin-Deceuninck cycling team will be in action from the Tour de Francito which will begin on July 1 in Copenhagen and both firms will be united until the end of the 2025 season.

Deceuninck will become the main partner of the Belgian cycling training, together with Alpecin, and will acquire this commitment until the end of 2025 being the official sponsor for at least three years.

The agreements with Alpecin and Canyon will also be extended until the end of 2025, so the team is ready for the next step: the WorldTour license for 2023-2025.

“At the beginning of 2022, Deceuninck joined a young, dynamic and ambitious team. Now is the ideal time to change the role to official sponsor; the same step that will be taken with the women’s team from 2023,” said Bruno Humblet, CEO of Deceuninck.

Philip Roodhooft, CEO of Alpecin-Fenix, celebrated the alliance with Deceuninck as a project for the future. “Today is a great day for the team, our horizon now extends to 2025. The budget is growing and that is necessary because success costs money and maintaining what is there costs even more. It is fantastic news that we take this step with the same collaborators, although in different functions“, he pointed.

The new Alpecin-Deceuninck jerseys will debut at the Tour de France. From then on, both the elite men of the team, as well as the cyclocross, mountain bike and gravel bike will wear the new jersey, with the exception of the women’s team, which will incorporate it in 2023.
