All the tributes of the clubs in which Maradona played

Argentinos, Boca, Napoli from Italy, Barcelona from Spain and Newell’s remembered Diego Armando Maradona on Thursday, who wore the coats of those entities, in the first year of his death with messages on social networks.

In Boca’s official Twitter account, “You never left. You are in the heart of every fan” was published, accompanied by a video where images of the star playing in the Bombonera with the Xeneize jacket and in his farewell match are observed.

Also through an emotional video published on his social networks, Argentinos Juniors, the club that saw him born, in which he played 166 games and was an Argentine soccer scorer, remembered his most illustrious player. “Step to Eternity” is the name of the short in which two boys cry in front of an armed altar in the center of the Diego Maradona stadium, along with photos and T-shirts that the star wore in his time as a footballer.

For its part, Napoli, where Diego was champion of Seria A, the Italian Cup and the UEFA Cup, put together a thread in which he mixes photographs, illustrations, cartoons and montages with the iconic moments of the star at the club. This is how he appears with the king’s crown, celebrating his unforgettable free kick against Juventus or with all the trophies won with the team, among others. On its website, the phrase that sums it all up is “GRAZIE DIEGO!” While the phrase is accompanied by a photo of the unforgettable footballer with the South of ltalia shirt.

Another entity that remembered Diego was Newell’s, where he only played five games in the 1993/94 season, but left an indelible mark. The Rosario club published the message “Always missing you” next to the photo of the “10” with the “red and black” shirt in that stage as a footballer, the same one that Lionel Messi used almost a year ago, when he paid tribute to him after scoring a goal for Barcelona.

Precisely the Catalan club, where Maradona played between 1982 and 1984, also expressed his regret on social networks. “A year without you. The world of football misses you, Diego,” he posted on his Twitter account, with a photo of Maradona with the Blaugrana shirt and captain’s tape.

The Professional League also joined in the tributes, with two shorts recreating two iconic videos of Maradona, with players from the local tournament. In the first, Gabriel Florentín, from Argentinos; Agustín Almendra, from Boca; and Maxi Rodríguez, from Newell’s, imitate the star by playing with a giant ball that represents the world. “You will live forever in each soccer player. You are eternal,” says the message on social networks. And in the second, footballers from all the clubs in the tournament play a little game with a golf ball, in a recreation of the historic interview that Maradona gave in 1994, before the World Cup in the United States.
