River Plate midfielder Rodrigo Aliendro, who had undergone surgery on Monday for the fracture in his face in the Superclásico against Boca, received a medical discharge this Wednesday and went home to begin his rehabilitation in the next few days, although he will only be able to return to the courts next year.

The former player of Atlético Tucumán and Colón de Santa Fe was successfully operated on Monday at the Finochietto Sanatorium in the city of Buenos Aires with the follow-up of the campus doctor, Pedro Hansing, although the operation was carried out by specialists in maxillofacial surgeries, indicated the official part of the Núñez club.

Aliendro, who underwent surgery for more than three hours, had been in the clinic since Sunday when he was hospitalized after the game at La Bombonera, when at a crossroads with Alan Varela he hit the knee of the player “xeneize” and suffered a fractured Facial mass with sinking of the right malar and involvement of the floor of the orbit.

The 31-year-old player came from Ituzaingó (he also wore the Chacarita shirt), underwent surgery in which screws and titanium plates were placed that will remain for life and will rest for about a month. After that period without physical activity he will be able to go back to jogging and doing gym work, but without any contact or soccer practice. Based on the evolution, the doctors will determine if he can join his teammates for the preseason in the summer, ahead of River’s commitments in 2023.

The player, one of River’s reinforcements for the second half of the year, had also been injured the night he made his debut against Vélez in the first leg of the Copa Libertadores round of 16. On that occasion, on June 29, Aliendro received an elbow that made him lose consciousness and ended up hospitalized for 24 hours of observation.
