TabarcaVela Alicante Provincial Council Regatta Announced

Alicante, Spain – The Alicante Provincial Council is set to host the latest edition of the prestigious TabarcaVela regatta from July 18 to 21, featuring over 70 boats and 700 sailors from around the world.

Key Details Unveiled

Deputy Governor Jose Antonio Russet and Royal Regatta Club of Alicante director Miguel Lopez revealed the details of the highly anticipated event, considered one of the most important in the world. The regatta will include a coastal route with a return to the island of Tabarca, as well as a regatta for boats ORC A2 between Valencia and Alicante and the incorporation of the Swan42 class.

National and International Participation

The event will attract sailors from across the country, including Andalusia, Melilla, the Region of Murcia, the Balearic Islands, Catalonia, and the Valencian Community. Boats will also fly flags from Italy, Germany, and France.

Tourist Promotion

The deputy governor emphasized the significance of the event in promoting tourism in Alicante, stating, "From the Alicante Provincial Council, we support initiatives like this, which not only promote the practice of sport but also favor the promotion of our land, making it a very attractive nautical event for our province."

Complementary Activities

Throughout the event, various complementary activities will take place, including live broadcasts of the tests, tastings, and live music sessions. The "III TabarcaVela Communication Awards" will also be held on Friday, July 19, recognizing journalists and media outlets for their contributions to disseminating and promoting sports.

Economic Impact

The project director noted the significant economic impact of the event, with over 1,000 people expected to attend daily, including crew, organization, technical staff, and families of the sailors. "We are a fantastic place to practice sports, also in the water, and by working in a tourist key, we open ourselves to the city of Alicante, the province, and the world using the resources we have to spread our land in the best way possible," said the Costa Blanca Tourism Board director.
