Revolutionizing B2B Commerce with Accio
At the recent Web Summit, Alibaba unveiled its latest innovation: Accio, the world’s first B2B supplier search engine. This groundbreaking tool is set to revolutionize the way businesses connect with global suppliers, taking Alibaba’s global seller ecosystem to new heights.
Empowering SMEs with Accio
Accio offers small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) the ability to easily access the expertise, information, manufacturers, and products they need to make informed sourcing decisions for their business. This is achieved through three basic components:
- Accio Search: An AI-powered B2B search engine that enables natural language searches, providing an intuitive platform for businesses to connect with global suppliers.
- Accio Page: An AI-powered feature that offers a dynamic Wikipedia-style interface for product information, as well as objective product details and comparisons to similar items.
- Accio Agent: An end-to-end e-commerce platform that acts as a personal sourcing agent, supporting inquiries, payments, and after-sales services through Alibaba’s robust infrastructure.
Transforming B2B Commerce
Kuo Zhang, President of Alibaba.com and Vice President of Alibaba International, emphasized that Accio is redefining B2B commerce by transforming the way companies connect and communicate with global suppliers. He noted that Accio is a truly disruptive tool, allowing users to interact naturally and intuitively in their own language, making the search for suppliers simpler and more effective.
According to Zhang, Accio connects users with suppliers around the world, presenting product information in a new way. Each SKU has its own dedicated and objective Wiki page that provides clear and up-to-date information from suppliers around the world. In the first tests, companies showed a 40% increase in purchase intent when using Accio compared to traditional search engines. Accio provides access to over 1 billion product listings in over 100 markets, supporting English, German, French, Portuguese, and Spanish.
