Alia Bhatt’s Mehandi Lehenga: A Recycled Patchwork from Her Own Wardrobe

Designer Manish Malhotra recently revealed details about Alia Bhatt’s distinctive mehndi ceremony lehenga. He shared the story on the reality show “Pitch to Get Rich,” where he serves as a judge alongside Akshay Kumar.

Bhatt had a special request for Malhotra. She asked him to create her lehenga using leftover fabrics and patches from outfits he had designed for her previously.

Malhotra confirmed he honored her request. He assembled the elaborate lehenga by combining various remnants.

This design choice underscores Bhatt’s commitment to sustainable fashion. She has a history of re-wearing her high-profile ensembles.

The same mehndi lehenga was later seen on her at a Diwali party hosted by Malhotra. Bhatt also notably re-wore her wedding sari for a subsequent awards function. Her actions consistently advocate for the reuse of clothing.
