Alia Bhatt recently shared some heartfelt thoughts about joining the legendary Kapoor family. She sat down with Varun Dhawan for a chat on Kajol and Twinkle Khanna’s talk show, “Too Much.” During the show, Alia opened up about various parts of her life. Her experience of becoming a Kapoor was a big topic.
Alia started dating Ranbir Kapoor back in 2018. They tied the knot in 2022. Their daughter, Raha, arrived that very same year. Alia revealed a special moment when the weight of the Kapoor family legacy truly hit her. It made her realize her daughter, Raha, was part of that grand history. She explained these feelings on “Too Much.”
A Legacy Moment on Raj Kapoor’s 100th Birthday
Alia shared how this realization came to her. She told hosts Kajol and Twinkle, “I think when you truly become involved in something, when you deeply connect with relationships, that’s when you understand the legacy you’re joining.” She recalled a large event for Raj Kapoor’s 100th birth anniversary. “In that moment, it clicked,” she said. “Raj Kapoor is Raha’s great-grandfather. That connection truly resonated with me then.” It was a powerful family moment.
Early Bond with Rishi Kapoor
Alia also spoke warmly about her bond with her father-in-law, the late Rishi Kapoor. She had spent a lot of time with him while filming “Kapoor & Sons.” This was even before she started dating Ranbir. “Rishi Ji would join us every evening,” she reminisced. “He had the most wonderful stories to share.” They would enjoy dinner together. Alia clearly holds those memories dear, saying, “I miss him a lot.”
