Alex Carey said Tim David’s specialty, he said: Hardik Pandya and Pollard have the same ability

Australian batsman Alex Carey is a fan of Tim David’s explosive hitting in the T20 World Cup squad and has compared him to India’s Hardik Pandya and West Indies’ Kieron Pollard. Cricket Australia has named Singapore-born, Perth-raised David as Mitchell Swepson’s replacement in the men’s World Cup squad announced on Thursday.

David has proven himself with his class performances in various leagues around the world and has made it to the 15-man Australian team. He is a natural striker with the bat and brings depth to the team’s hitting.

David, 26, was not a very household name in Australian cricket but rose to fame after he was bought by the IPL Mumbai Indians team for a whopping Rs 8.5 crore.

“I played him (David) at the Big Bash and saw his power hitting from behind the wicket. He has the ability to hit both sides of the pitch,” Carey said on SEN 1170 Breakfast on Friday.

Carey said: “In the media and in the buzz surrounding Tim David, it’s said that he has the ability to hit sixes from the first ball. Most players don’t have that ability. In the last 12 to 24 months, his The rebound has been tremendous and is going to take the world in the middles of a middle-order hitter at the Big Bash.”

He said: “David is one of the best T20 batsmen in the world and can be compared to India’s Hardik Pandya and West Indies’ Kieron Pollard and Andre Russell who are tremendous batsmen. He will give the management a headache.” Australia will play their first World Cup match against New Zealand in Sydney on October 22.
