Alejandro Valverde returns to compete in the Giro de Sicilia

Alejandro Valverde returns to compete this week after the hard fall he suffered in the seventh stage of the Vuelta a España on the way to the Balcón de Alicante. The Murcian cyclist will be part of the dMovistar’s ‘seven’ for the Giro de Sicilia, which starts this Tuesday on the Italian island.

In this way, Movistar confirms a return date that Valverde himself dropped on September 3 during an interview on Eurosport’s ‘La Montonera’, in what will be his first test for the Giro de Lombardia (October 9), his great goal in this final stretch of the season.

Together with Valverde they complete the Movistar team for the Giro de Sicilia, the Italian Davide Villella, the Puerto Rican Abner González, the Colombian Einer Rubio and the Spanish Antonio Pedrero, José Joaquín Rojas and Marc Soler, who will face one of his last races at Movistar after confirming his departure to UAE Emirates at the end of this season.
