Alec Baldwin has publicly addressed a car accident that occurred in East Hampton, New York, confirming that he and his brother Stephen Baldwin, who was also in the vehicle, are both unharmed. The incident saw Baldwin’s car crash into a tree on Monday, October 13.
The veteran actor shared details of the event in an Instagram video posted that evening, at approximately 8:55 PM ET. He explained that he was driving when he was cut off by a "whale-sized" garbage truck. To avoid a collision with the truck, Baldwin swerved, striking a "big, thick tree" instead.
Baldwin stated that his wife’s car was "pretty totaled" from the impact. However, he emphasized that both he and Stephen are "fine" and that "everything is good."
A representative for Stephen Baldwin corroborated this, telling Us in a statement that Stephen is "well and grateful no one was hurt," confirming both brothers are "healthy and safe."
Alec Baldwin extended his gratitude to the East Hampton police department, describing their assistance as "as kind as you can be." He specifically thanked Officer Gerken for helping him file a report at the scene.
Following the accident, Baldwin shared his immediate plans to travel to Los Angeles to visit his family for a few days before returning home.
He concluded his video message by expressing his pride for his wife, Hilaria Baldwin, following her participation in Dancing With the Stars, telling her, "I love you more than anything."
