Many people still have a few records from days gone by, hidden deep in their closets. Or a relative has left the musical witnesses as an inheritance. Now the question arises as to how these classic media can be played inexpensively. Aldi currently has the Maginon HS-T08 USB record player with a 50 percent discount, meaning the device only costs 49.99 euros instead of 99.99 euros.
MP3 conversion without a computer
One thing in advance: you certainly can’t expect high-end hi-fi equipment at this price. Almost all of these inexpensive devices rely on extremely simple combinations of motor and pickup. The stylus (also called a needle) used to transfer the grooves to the built-in speakers is also from the absolute entry-level class. If used correctly, the records played should not be damaged. The Aldi record player is even suitable for digitizing old treasures thanks to its USB port. The records can be saved digitally as an MP3 file either on a USB stick or an inserted SD card. A computer is not necessary for this conversion.
Bluetooth and color selection
The two integrated speakers, each with one watt of music output, should produce sufficiently good stereo sound. A power supply unit for operation is included. The Aldi record player HS-T08 can also be connected to a much larger speaker via Bluetooth. The manufacturer specifies the range as 10 meters. The record player can play records at speeds of 33 1/3, 45 and 78 revolutions per minute. However, a different pickup is required to use classic shellac records with 78 RPM. However, if you just want to play records from the late 1960s to current pressings, you’ll be fine with the scope of delivery. Aldi offers the record player in two colors, one with a black lacquer look and a brown wood look.
