Medion is relaunching the Erazer Enforcer Aldi-Nord and Aldi-Süd. Does what is on offer justify a purchase, or are there better offers in stores? We’ll tell you and name appropriate alternatives.
We want to start with the components that make up the new Medion Erazor Enforcer X10 and that are ultimately crucial for the performance of the gaming PC.
The processor
Intel
The basis for the refreshed Medion Erazer Enforcer GHz clocked Efficiency cores (“Gracemont”). The hybrid processor is cooled by the Alphacool Eisbaer 240 AiO water cooling system, which in turn uses a 240 mm copper radiator.
Intel Core i7-14700K
- 8 performance cores with up to 5.6 GHz
- 12 efficiency cores with up to 4.3 GHz
- 28 threads through Intel SMT
- 33 MiByte Smart Cache
- 125 watts TDP
Compared to its direct predecessor, the Medion Erazer Enforcer X10 with Intel Core i9-13900K, the new model offers a total of four processor cores and therefore four fewer threads.
The working memory
Kingston
The new Intel Core i7-14700KF used, which unlike the old Intel Core i9-13900K does not have an integrated graphics unit, is supported by 64 GiByte DDR5 memory with a speed of up to 6,000 MT/s from the Kingston Fury Beast RGB series .
Kingston Fury Beast RGB
- 2 × 32 GiBytes
- DDR5-6000 CL36-38-38
- Intel XMP 3.0
- 1.35 volts
The fast DDR5 memory kit runs with a CAS latency of 36 clock cycles at a supply voltage of 1.35 volts, while the high clock frequencies are achieved by Intel XMP (“Xtreme Memory Profile”) 3.0.
The motherboard
Gigabytes
All components find a home on the Gigabyte Z790 AORUS ELITE AX. The high-end mainboard is equipped with a Z790 chipset from Intel and also offers the following features:
- 16 phases voltage modulation
- Wi-Fi 6E (WLAN 802.11ax)
- Bluetooth 5.3
- 7.1 Audio
- TPM 2.0
- RGB
The motherboard with its LGA1700 socket offers a powerful and upgradeable basis for a high-end gaming PC.
The graphics card
Gigabytes
The graphics card used is the Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24G with 128 streaming multiprocessors and 16,384 shader units as well as 24 GiByte GDDR6X graphics memory with a fast 21 Gbps, which works with 450 watts TGP (“Total Graphics Power”). The clock frequencies are 2,235 to 2,535MHz (“Boost”).
Gigabyte GeForce RTX 4090 Gaming OC 24G
- 128 streaming multiprocessors
- 16,384 shader units
- 24 GiByte GDDR6X
- 450 watts TGP
Three axial fans with a diameter of 110 mm and a 0dB zero fan mode ensure appropriately cool temperatures, while a 16-pin PCIe 5.0 connector (“12VHPR”) supplies the appropriate energy.
The permanent memory
Western Digital
The solid storage for the Medion Erazer Enforcer
- 2 terabyte WD_BLACK SN850X NVMe™ SSD PCIe
- 2 terabyte hard drive
This means that players have a total of 4 terabytes of storage space available, which should also be enough for larger game libraries. Additional mass storage can also be retrofitted using M.2 and SATA if you ever run out of storage space.
The power supply
Seasonic
The Seasonic VERTEX GX-1200W, a high-end power supply with a nominal output of 1,200 watts, provides more than enough energy and can cover peaks at short notice with up to 2,400 watts.
- 135 mm fan (semi-passive)
- 150 × 86 × 160mm
- 80PLUS Gold
- PCIe 5.0
The powerful power supply has sufficient reserves for future graphics cards and, with PCIe 5.0 and a current 16-pin connector (“12VHPWR”), also offers the most modern connectivity that leaves little to be desired. The 80PLUS Gold certification also attests to the power supply’s particularly high efficiency.
The connections
On the connectivity side, the Medion Erazer Enforcer X10, which weighs around 20 kilograms with dimensions of 21.5 × 50.8 × 50.8 cm, offers the following connections:
- Front:
- 2 × USB 3.2 Gen1
- 1 × USB 3.2 Type-C
- 1 × Mic in
- 1× audio out
- Back:
- 1 × USB Type-C with USB 3.2 Gen 2×2 support
- 2 × USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-A
- 3 × USB 3.2 Gen 1
- 4×USB 2.0/1.1
- 2 × SMA antenna connector (2T2R)
- 1×HDMI 2.1
- 3 × DisplayPort 1.4
- 1×RJ-45
- 1 × optical S/PDIF Out
- 2 × Audio Jacks
This means that the gaming PC is ideally equipped for current and future tasks and can be quickly and easily expanded and upgraded with accessories and peripherals.
The software
So that users can get started straight away with the Medion Erazer Enforcer X10, the gaming system comes with a pre-installed operating system, office package and anti-virus solution. However, Office and Antivirus are temporary trial versions.
- Windows 11 Home 64-bit
- Microsoft Office 365 (trial version)
- McAfee LiveSafe (trial version)
Fortunately, Medion does not use bloated additional software, so-called “bloatware,” during the initial installation.
The overall concept has potential for optimization
The overall concept of the Medion Erazer Enforcer The savings potential when switching to 32 GiByte is 60 to 80 euros, depending on the memory kit.
Since the Intel Core i7-14700KF has a comparably high TDP and thus waste heat, especially under load and with OC, a larger AiO water cooling system with a 360 mm radiator is also worth considering.
Since the potential buyers of a complete PC operate it on the shelf but with the factory settings, the selection of components for the Medion Erazer Enforcer X10 is absolutely fine and can be viewed as sensible.
However, we don’t want to deprive you of alternative complete PCs and the option of building your own PC.
The alternatives
The PC-WELT editorial team has researched comparable gaming PCs for you, which also use high-end hardware and are an alternative to the Medion Erazer Enforcer X10.
Build your own gaming PC?
Do you want to get your own high-end gaming PC even cheaper? In such cases, you cannot avoid building it yourself with selected components.
Homemade gaming PCs usually offer the best price-performance ratio – and you can tailor the hardware perfectly to your needs. But configuring cheap yet good hardware is not always easy. We’ll tell you how to do it:
The conclusion: recommendable overall package, but…
If you compare the Medion Erazor Enforcer X10 with the competitors, you will notice that it offers adequate hardware and a well-rounded overall package at a competitive price.
With the Intel Core i7-14700KF and the Nvidia GeForce RTX 4090, the Medion Erazor Enforcer
The gaming performance is beyond any doubt and is easily sufficient for high demands and resolutions in WQHD (“1440p”) and 4K/UHD (“2160p”). Even high refresh rates of 100 frames per second are no hurdle for Nvidia’s current GPU flagship. The memory expansion is generous, and the feature set with Wi-Fi 6E, PCIe 5.0 and Bluetooth 5.3 is up to date.
If you build it yourself, which can certainly be an alternative, you can save around 350 to 400 euros, but this requires the appropriate craftsmanship and basic technical knowledge.
If you are not afraid of building your own and have the appropriate technical understanding, you should take a closer look at our miser wish list:
Players should also keep in mind that the Medion Erazer Enforcer
If you want to buy the components individually and then have them assembled by a shop for the usual flat rate of 99 to 129 euros, you should instead go straight to a complete PC like the Medion Erazor Enforcer X10 or the alternatives we have mentioned.
