Alcaraz runs over Zverev and wins the Madrid Masters

The Spaniard Carlos Alcaraz won the fifth title of his career in Madrid, the fourth so far this season, after beating German Alexander Zverev, current champion, 6-3, 6-1, in the final of the Mutua Madrid Open, after one hour and two minutes.

Alcaraz, who will appear on Monday as the sixth player in the world in the ATP ranking, has managed to beat three of the first four players in the ranking at the Caja Mágica.

He beat number one, the Serbian Novak Djokovic, in the semifinals and before that, in the quarterfinals, the number four, the Spanish Rafael Nadal, winner of twenty-one Grand Slams. Now, in Madrid, he knocked down the German, currently the third racket on the planet.
